Mikiel Houser is the Co-Founder and President of LA Music Blog. Mikiel has been actively expanding the com- pany’s last year of operations as it pertains to company strategy, business development, financial systems, industry outreach, and establishing the concept that is LA Music Blog today. Mikiel previously held the position of Vice President of Ue3 Promotions, an independent promotions firm based in Los Angeles, California, where he made several key connections in the music industry—a primary reason behind LA Music Blog’s quick expansion in the industry. Mikiel currently oversees a small, yet effective staff of 10 writers and contributors that each have a pulse on a different market within the music industry. In his previous position with Ue3 Promotions, Mikiel oversaw 21 radio campaigns and 14 consulting campaigns, increasing the company’s reach to include not only the greater Los Angeles area, but also other major music markets such as Austin, New York, and Orlando. Mikiel graduated from Full Sail University’s Music Business Bachelor Degree Program in Winter Park, Florida.
Kristin Houser is the Co-Founder and Vice President of LA Music Blog. Kristin has contributed significantly to the development of the company, from initial concept through its current state, and has been primarily respon- sible for generating site content, acting as the site’s Lead Writer and Editor since its launch. In addition to writing her own reviews, interviews, and articles, Kristin edits and prepares every article submitted by LA Music Blog’s staff of 10 writers and contributors for posting. She also holds a position at Cosmic Toast Studios as Office Manager/Writer and has developed many relationships within the film, television, and music industries. Previous positions include Writer/Editor for Full Sail University, a position in which she edited entertainment and media industry-related textbooks for use within a collegiate environment. Kristin graduated cum laude from Ohio Uni- versity with a B.A. in English.
Rob Loukotka is the Chief Technical Officer for LA Music Blog. Rob is a graphic designer and web artist whose work includes a mix of commercial art (brand identities, logos, website designs, etc.) and personal artwork (t-shirts, photo manipulation, etc.). In addition to co-founding Collision Labs, a design company focusing on brand identity, print materials, web design, and motion graphics, he has acted as lead designer/creative director for MyBandStock.com, a music-oriented social networking website. Rob’s years of experience have led to design projects with clients all over the world—including the Detroit Pistons, Cleveland Cavaliers, Los Angeles Lakers, and University of Michigan Football—and his work has been featured on popular design sites such as Smash- ing Magazine, CSS Mania, Creattica, Noupe, and Six Revisions, as well as within two nationally published books about image editing within Photoshop.
