Gotanga is a new software business using internet technologies to alleviate the pains of managing healthcare information. Personal experience and research has identified a large and growing market for enabling healthcare people and organizations to better manage their information. Gotanga’s initial targeted sectors are insurance and cardiology and generate revenues of over $3 billion and $6 billion respectively. To reach this North American market, the company offers software on the internet, called Software-as-a-Service, which leverages the computing power of the internet, called cloud computing.
The company is setup for a low burn rate by design – not crisis. The revenue model is a combination of setup fees and reoccurring subscription fees. Customers are signed up to annual and multi-year contracts.

- Tom Hudock has focused on internet-based trends and technology to apply cost effective solutions for clients. His consulting work has focused on solving the most challenging problems and efficiency issues in government and private organizations.
- As Practice Leader for Justice and Public Safety for Online Business Systems, a management and IT consulting company with revenues of $50 million, Tom directed growth by establishing service offerings, marketing initiatives, partnership strategies, and go-to-market strategies.
- As Project Manager, Relationship Manager and Business Consultant for Sierra Systems Group, a management and IT consulting company with revenues of $200 million, Tom worked with U.S. and Canadian governments in finance, justice, and law enforcement.
- While managing project development teams and delivering projects successfully, Tom’s focus was on building customer relationships with management and executive teams.
- Tom founded Evereclear Solutions, a point of sale software company specializing in retail shops selling and supporting customers across North America.
Jo Surich, President and COO
- Jo Surich has created, built and sold several companes focused on the development and delivery of technology services. His consulting work has focused extensively on health-related issues, including the management of contract negotiations with major vendors such as IBM and Sun. Most recently he has provided senior leadership and advice to a project re-building the diagnotic imaging environment in British Columbia.
- As the Province of BC’s Chief Information Officer, Jo was responsible for the realignment of IT and IM services across the BC Government.
- As the Partner responsible for the Enterprise Resource Practice at Sierra Systems, Jo Surich directed the growth and development of the software integration business across North America, working with large clients.
- As President of Transformation Solutions led a range of management consulting projects involving diverse teams of employees and contractors. The firm was sold to Sierra Systems.
- As BC’s Public Service Commissioner was responsible for the negotiation of labour agreements for 42,000 direct employees and an additional 200,000 in the extended public sector environment.
- While acting as the Chief Executive Officer of a private sector HR software and consulting firm, Jo directed the design, development and marketing of commercial software products by a group of 15-20 employees, achieving an installed base of more than 500 medium-sized manufacturing businesses. He launched this business after leaving a professorial post at the University of Waterloo.
Michael Brown, CIO
- Michael Brown founded Applied Health Data Analysis, a consulting firm focused on delivery system integration, business intelligence, and analytical services to the Health Care industry.
- As the Chief Information Officer at the Physician Hospital Community Organization, Michael led initiatives to develop web based reporting to clients, revamp the security infrastructure to comply with HIPAA requirements, and provided analytical support to marketing efforts.
- As the Chief Scientist at Dataloom Solutions, Michael developed a data warehouse solution for Managed Care companies and oversaw the implementation of the first client. Additionally, Michael developed software for managing risk contracts between physicians and Managed Care companies.
- As Manager of Budgeting and Finance at United Health Care of Florida, Michael oversaw the annual budget process including estimating premiums, medical, and administrative costs. Additionally, Michael was responsible for Actual vs. Budget variance analysis and all forecasting efforts.
