Originally I was looking for funding for a ten minute short film that I was obsessed with producing.  After failing to aquire funds I went out, got a bank loan and produced the thing anyways.  The footage is amazing and the film is currently in post-production.  I have also began writing a feature length script based on the same concept and characters in the short film.  I plan on shooting the feature before the end of next year.  It will be an ambitious piece which I will present to distributors for both theatrical and DVD releases.

I still plan on releasing the short film titled "Grow the Fuck Up!" into festivals one I secure more funds.  Producing a $16 000 short film with a bank loan during a recession was not easy and my financial situation has suffered because of it.  It will take a few months before I can recupe and finish the short film in its entirety.

Planning, planning and more planning.  I've put more time into this short film than any other project I've worked on and there has been many.  Both production costs and post-production costs have been budgetted with film transfer rates and festival entry fees taken into account.

Our rough budget comes out to approximately $12 000.  I've applied for a bank loan of $16 000 to accommodate any obstacles we might run into.  This production will happen regardless of how much funding I can pull together.  I'm not a rich man so any investment or support would be amazing.  There is no guarantee that this will turn a profit but it will be fun and the end product will be very entertaining.

The short will involve a fully functional puppet along with small quantities of 3-D animation.  I have my cast together, most of my crew and most of my locations.  Executive Producer credits will be available to anyone investing over $1 000.  There is also the chance to participate as an extra in a short party scene.  This is my first time approaching investors and any advice on what I'm doing right and what I'm doing wrong would be appreciated.
